This month we turn the spotlight onto Andrea Henderson. We did the usual and asked Andrea if she could answer some questions in her own words.

Q1: When did you first start attending PT in the Park?

I started about 2.5 years ago...roughly I think.

Q2: How did you find out about PT in the Park?

My flatmate told me about it after driving past Hagley Park and seeing the sandwich board advertising it...It sounded too good to be true ( free exercise, with others, outside, with experienced, professional trainers; free. (Did I say free?!) So my flatmate and I turned up the following Saturday after she told me about it, but she didn't return. I have been every Saturday I could ever since!

Q3: What made you try out PT in the Park?

I have never been interested in the gym but really enjoy being active outdoors. My previous personal trainer had moved overseas and I was wondering what I was going to do next.

Q4: In your opinion what’s the best thing for you about attending PT in the Park sessions?

Oh let me count the ways! Fitness, health, wellbeing, strength, fun professionally designed workouts, fresh air, exercise, resilience, motivation, discipline, positivity, friends, encouragement....

Q5: What motivates you to continue attending sessions with PT in the Park?

The multiple reasons above and then there’s the coffee we have afterwards. Oh yes and of course the thought about how I want to be able to cope with tomorrow/getting older.

Q6: What advice would you give anyone thinking about trying out PT in the Park?

Turn up at 9am on Saturday!!

Thanks for your assistance in letting us tell your story Andrea, we really appreciate it. We absolutely love seeing you every Saturday morning and feed off of the enthusiasm you show us all, both at the Park of a session and in supporting us in other activities or fundraisers we are part of.
